Who we are
Overview of CMS Africa
Our Roots
CMS-Africa was formed in 2008 out of the 1799 CMS (Church Mission Society). It was formed out of the fact that the Church in Africa has grown and had the potential to self-propagate within Africa and be an agent to mobilize for Christian Mission from Africa to the rest of the world.
Our Vision and Mission
CMS-Africa’s Vision is “Renewed Mindsets: Transformed Nations”. As a Christian Mission agency, CMS-Africa exists “to equip and multiply leaders in Church and Society for community transformation.”
Our Network
We are part of the CMS Mission Network together with CMS Britain, CMS Ireland, Asia CMS, CMS Australia, New Zealand CMS, SAMS-Ireland, Faith 2 Share, and SAMS USA.

Biblical Worldview and Stewardship
In response to the African needs, we have developed four Bible-based programmes targeting discipleship of: Leaders, young people, families and women. These Programmes are:
- WTL - Wholistic Transformational Leadership – for leaders
- 3D – Discover, Develop and Deploy – for young people
- F4 – Financial Freedom for Families
- WEP – Women Empowerment Programme.

By working holistically through the church to address their spiritual, social and physical and intellectual needs, we present individuals with an opportunity to become responsible and fulfilled members of the society

The Church is God's chosen instrument to bring hope to change to a hurting world. That's why we work exclusively in partnership with local churches in developing nations to deliver a wholistic development program of an individual, the church, the community and thus, the nations of the World.
