Mulonja Field Update
The Masindes are serving as Timothy Partners in this field under the leadership of Philip and Julia Kebbo.
Felix together with his wife Tabitha has become resourceful in family affairs in the community and beyond their knowledge through Christ Jesus. Mr. Masinde mainly targets the youth in his ministry. He engages them through sports and farming youth groups. This opens a door for sharing the gospel and education against radicalization, crime and drug abuse.
Tabitha is mainly involved in early childhood education in a public primary school in the village as well as training women on tailoring skills. Tabitha has created contact with especially young women through tailoring training and counselling teams. She saw an opportunity beyond teaching amongst the girls in the school she teaches and has begun a mentorship program for them.
Girls in this region are often denied access to education and are married off at an early age. This got Tabitha thinking of walking with them and encouraging especially those who face such a risk.
In her research she realized that the most affected are those in classes six and above but that in class eight is most vulnerable especially after completing their primary education. She chose to tap them from class seven and mentor them to be the leaders who will give solutions to the challenges facing their community.
Upon meeting part of the twenty that she is walking currently, one of them expressed her desire to work hard be a lawyer and help the girls of her community to go through education without being forced out of school for marriage.
