Mission Urbaine
An Inaugural F4 Class was conducted in Kinshasa, DRC that evolved into a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization. The training class ran from November 2020 to January 2021. This training was organised for 10 participants: 6 volunteers who work with Jeff and 4 seed project champions. At the end of the training, Mr. Clovis Kalubi was greatly inspired to initiate a savings and credits group so as to locally grow their investment capital.
He commented among us here, there are some who graduated from university, and until today they are jobless, facing financial difficulty, yet they wish to start a small business but they can’t or haven’t. All of us here, members of the CMS-Africa/DRC team face financial hardship during this Covid-19 pandemic.
How can we apply the F4 principles we have just learnt so as to improve our financial situation?
In February the team decided to start a Community-Based Savings and Loans Initiative) with the initial ten members through which the members can save funds together and give each other loans for business purposes so as to support their families
As of the time of writing this report, the savings group of 11 couples aptly called Mission Urbaine had managed to save over 440 USD.
