Judith Mabondo: The F4 Training changed my life

My name is Judith Mabondo, I am 55 years old. I am married with one biological daughter and two grandsons but I stay with 6 other young people at our home in Njiro Area, Arusha in Tanzania. Together with my husband, we minister with Mission to youth and students in Tanzania.

I am very grateful to CMS Africa. I am glad that I had to attend CMS-Africa F4 training in August 2023. It really touched my heart. It changed my life. I really didn’t have financial discipline before. I didn’t have control with my finances and I was struggling even to pay my bills at the end of the month. I didn’t have any savings. I thought I didn’t have enough but after training with this program, I learnt to close some of the leakages.

For example, we have two big vans which consumed a lot of fuel and after learning that we have to learn how to cut some of the leakages, me and my husband decided to sell one of our big vehicles with big engine so that we can buy a small car for day to day running. Before the end of the year (2023), we sold one van and we bought a small car, and we see a very big difference in fuel consumption, and we save the money. By doing that, we have been even able to save some money and repair the house which was not easy before.

I have also learnt to save. Before, I could not save anything because I was waiting to get a big lumpsum of money to be able to save, but now I have learnt that whatever you get, you can save a little bit. So…I have been saving some money and I know I will do more. Now we can even plan for some investments because we can save some money and start another investment. Like cultivating some crops for business.

After training with Financial Freedom for Families program, I have seen that there is a need of spreading this training to others. Like we are in the Church, I introduced to my Pastor and he thinks that it is a very good training for the whole Church to get the training. I have introduced this training to my immediate family but also my siblings. We are even thinking of doing it online, or something like that. Even my grandson, he is only seven but I am now teaching him to save in the piggy bank which we did not do before.

In our ministry, we are introducing Financial Freedom program as well. So, we are thinking, we are soon going to start a skills center. It used to be a secondary school but now its going to be a skills center; meaning that training people for few days, bringing young people from college, from home, from churches, and train them. So, we think that one of the subjects which is very important for everybody to learn is Financial freedom. We are putting that in our curriculum so that whoever comes gets financial management training.”
