Ugandan Youth speak about their experiences going …
Am really blessed to be part of 3Ds family. 3D impacted a lot to me in my life. I came to lean that in everything I do a steward. Actually I came to learn that mostly we thought that being in the church and ministering, that is the only thing you can do. But I have learnt that in our places of work, we can also be ministers.
We can be ministers in everything we do. 3D has also enlarged my understanding about business ideas. 3D has really sent me to put a hand to the ideas I had in my mind. Probably I think in the next three or four months am going to do practical and start those businesses and try to see I reach somewhere. It has also helped me to know that I can also pass information because have taught a few people about the first and the second Ds. So it showed me that I can also teach what I have learnt. Thank you.
AINEMBAWAZI FAITH
I really thank God for the 3D, because at first I was confused of what I should do and I should be doing. But when I came here, I discovered my challenge, I developed it and now I can deploy it. I never knew that I can write poems, but now I can write a poem. I really thank God because this has helped me so much.
I have found out that we can glorify God in different sectors not only in the church. I really thank the facilitators, different people who have come up to make such empowering girls and youths because many of us are out there but we don’t know what to do. We have really enjoyed it because we are like a family. I feel at home and I thank God for this
PATRICIA IBIJU
I have been in 3Dz moved for the three modules that are; discover, develop and deploy. And it’s about discovering what you really are, what you were meant to be, developing it and deploying it and putting it into action. We have done this for two years now and it has really been fun. We have been supported, some of us we have not been able to know what we wanted to be, what we were meant to do, what we were meant to do. But CMS- AFRICA came up with shalom and they have helped us to know what we are really meant to do.
And I personally have really heard a lot of things that I feel like I should keep going for. But right now, I really know what I meant for to keep my work hard on and have been blessed with having new friends because we have been making conferences meeting from different places, people from Bare, Burenga so far away and we have been together. It has really brought about unity, we have learnt how to be public speakers, and we have learnt to be friendly, flexible and adapting different kinds of environment.
We have really been used to each other, there has been a lot of friendship and it has really been supportive to one’s life. Because we never know this kind of environment we will need it in our future. I want to thank God for enabling us to be part of this and we have graduated today and I thank God for graduating. And I really thank God for bringing this people into our lives.
We have graduated, and so we can teach others. I have learnt one thing, that in everything you do, it doesn’t matter you are working in an office or wherever you are or whatever you do, you are doing it for the glory of God. Therefor there has to be one way that God has to be glorified. There is no way you can be there and you don’t have a way you are glorifying God wherever you are. So I urge you to know that God is the center of everything and you can glorify Him wherever you are.
EBIJU PATRICIA (Zana Community Presbyterian Church)
I discovered my talent during our first module of discover and I came to know that I can make good music and when I sing, I feel comfortable. I minister in different places i.e. great harvest church and chariots Zana and we do all that for the glory of God. At first, I was just singing so that people have fun, to be seen by the people, to make them jump around and after the training I realized that my singing should be for the glory of God.
During the training we read about the men who were given talents, and some used their talents well and others kept their talents so we should use our talents but use them to help out others and not to sit on them, but we use it for the glory of God. Most of the times we do not develop our talents and just get tired of them. I read a book where we were encouraged to make Christian music fun and create something new.
For example, at school we have the educative class where we come up with the new ideas i.e. making chalk, paper bags, whereby we come up with the new ideas and people like them and we must remember that it is all about God. Let us worship, with worship that glorifies God so that it benefits us.
Chariots band which was my suggestion to involve primary students, but some refused it and me was interested with singing with the primary students, yet other secondary students did not like the idea but went ahead to pray about this idea now they have their own choir they are encouraged and now they lead the worship and coping up slowly by slowly. finely, I love God and am looking forward to training them slowly by slowly.
NAGGAYI IMELDA (STUDENT AT WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE UGANDA)
At first, I was confused with what to take as my career but after the discover module. I learnt that I can teach and now am teaching children at children safe Uganda and doing trainings with shalom network. But at first, didn’t know this before and previously I wanted to be a doctor. It was through the develop module that I learnt to use the little I have to share it with others and have been able to teach the children the word of God. I used to be shy but now am not and can stand before the people boldly and speak.
LIPA MIRIAM DEBORAH.
At first, I wanted to sing but i was shy and at my home church used to sing and when it came to different places I could not do it because of being shy. After the discover module I discovered that even at different place I can do it .so I thank God that at school in the inter- house competition I sung and made it and our house won.
Also, I wanted to become a counselor at our school because of fear I didn’t go for it and my friend got involved and she won and now I admire her and failed because of fear and being shy. Also, I encouraged my friend who was performing badly in class and she changed her attitude and now she is performing well and she loves me because am generous and have learnt how to counsel.

I came to realize that I can preach and at school am doing that work and have gained boldness and I can stand before the people and speak.
Have come to know that a person starts slowly by slowly and I got it from the man called GNL zamber and 3ds has helped me to gain confidence.
KAJUMBA SOLOMON.
I attended different trainings like timothy leadership training, TNA, as I did this training I thought it was just for just and as went back home I went through the material again and discovered much when I read through the materials I discovered a lot of things I can do.
I started making furniture for different people and in different places.
At the end of it all I personally benefited, other people benefited and the community around me has also benefited from the work I do because it saves money, labor and the materials.
Even had a friend who was a drunkard, but I counseled him, encouraged him but he no longer does that which encourages me as a person that I can counsel someone and he listens.
