Equipped to Serve: Rev. Hellen's Journey of Transformation in Kotido, Uganda
My name is Rev. Deacon Hellen Alex Angom, and in April 2025, I graduated with a Diploma in Theology from Uganda Christian University, Mbale. This milestone is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the generous support I received from CMS-Africa, which made my studies possible.
Before this achievement, my journey was marked by financial challenges that could have hindered my calling. CMS-Africa lifted that burden, allowing me to focus fully on my studies and ministry. Their support not only covered my tuition but also strengthened my confidence, deepened my understanding of God’s Word, and equipped me to serve with excellence.
During my training, I undertook an internship from September to December 2024 at Abuk Christ Church of Uganda under Kiru Archdeaconry. It was a fruitful season of ministry, and by God’s grace, I was retained to continue serving in the same church.
On January 19, 2025, I was ordained as a Rev. Deacon at Christ Church Cathedral, Kotido, by Rt. Rev. Bishop Simon Akol Aisu.
My vision now is to serve God and humanity through pastoral ministry, community outreach, and mission work. I aim to reach the marginalized with the Gospel, disciple believers, and be available to serve wherever God sends me.
I also plan to further my studies when the opportunity arises, with the long-term goal of establishing a sustainable community development project that integrates spiritual, social, and economic empowerment.
I am deeply grateful to CMS-Africa for believing in my potential. Your investment in me is bearing fruit, not only in my life but also in the community I serve. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and for walking with me on this journey of transformation.
