CMS-Africa Unveils New International Director
The CMS-Africa Board of Trustees has announced Rev. Canon Moses Bushendich as the replacement to Rev. Dr. Dennis Tongoi, the International Director from September 1, 2018.
Fondly known as Canon Bush, Bushendich is an Anglican Priest since 2002 and serves currently as the coordinator of the Household and Community Transformation Directorate (formerly, Planning, Development and Rehabilitation Department) of the Church of Uganda at the Provincial Secretariat from 2015 with a study leave in between. Before this, he was the Chaplain to
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda having been called from the Planning, Development and Rehabilitation department where he was the Programme Officer in charge of designing sustainable livelihood, Food and Nutritional Security Programmes across the Province of the Church of Uganda. From 2002 to 2009, Bush served in Sebei Diocese as Parish Priest (Kutung Parish) at the same time as the Diocesan Planning and Development coordinator and before this, he served as Diocesan Mission and Evangelism Coordinator. From 1994 to 2004, Bush taught Agriculture in secondary school.
On the academic front, Bush is a candidate of Doctor of Theology at Yonsei University, South Korea. He holds MA Organizational Leadership and Management; and Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) of Uganda Christian University; and a Diploma in Education (Agriculture) of Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), now Kyambogo University.
He has participated in several on the job trainings including: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning; Process Approach to Development; Sustainable Development; media advocacy; message development for behavior change; Advocacy for family planning and contraceptive security as an approach to development among others.
Through his studies, trainings and job placements, Bush has gained skills in: strategic thinking and planning, programme development and implementation; leadership and management; documentation and reporting; and resource mobilization, stewardship and partnership management. He is passionate about the relationship between Social Development and the God’s mission to the Church (Co-Mission).
Bush is married to Caroline and together they have 5 children who have been an integral part of his career and spiritual journey.
