CMS-Africa trains the Burundi Women of financial F…
The CMS-Africa Women training programme conducted a 3 day training for the Mothers Union and Christian Community Development (CCD) of Burundi in September 2016.
“We had 16 Participants who participated in the 3 days training equipping them on transformational stewardship,” say Lucy Ochieng who coordinates the Women Training Programme at CMS-Africa.
The audience liked the message of the training and thought it was a novel idea worth every Christian believer in Africa. “I have been in ministry for so long yet I didn’t know this. From this training, I have come to better understand my role and place as a woman in ministry,” said one of the participants.
The Women Trainer, MeshackOduke delved intoabout 9 topics spurning discerning ones identity in God, how to prepare the mind and body to do the will of God, internalization of what it means to be a Godly woman and how the society views them and how they can respond to the same.
The main mode of training was hinged in the founding principles of culture popularly referred to as the ABC’s of culture:- whose purpose is on preparing the human mind to do God’s will.
From the trainings, the participants were charged with coming up with counter action.
Parenting is yet another topic that the trainers delved into and inspired the mothers on how to conduct good parenting, stewardship.
The trainees made reference to the discipline of love matrix designed to help them to value discipline in daily routine as they serve God in their various mandates.
Planning for the activities was the last part of the training. This was coupled with identifying of the resources.
The trainees would like to have a training every quarter to help them gain skills and knowledge that would help other women in several of the dioceses within Burundi.
The need for translating the training materials into local languages also emerged and the women pledged.
“If we can get the Burundi Christian University to help in translation of the materials into French and Kirundi, our materials can get more usage and relevance in that country,” says MeshackOduke.
