CMS-Africa stewardship content on embraced in Euro…

CMS-Africa received a Macedonia call from Geneva Switzerland during 2018-2019 financial year to disciple Africans in diaspora on stewardship. The invitation came through an F4 graduate who went through course a couple of years ago while in Kenya and later on relocated to live and work in Geneva.

“One morning as I sat having my breakfast I thought of F4 and what positive impact it had in my family and I thought to myself, this would be really useful in Europe. Immediately I wrote an email to Henry Mwaniki and shared my vision,” says Jenifer Macheso whose husband got a job in Geneva in 2016 and moved with his entire family there.

The increasing need for a biblical based guidance on the financial stewardship Is what led to Jenifer to initiate F4 training initially as an open session in November 2019 where we had Henry pitch F4 and the response was overwhelming. We had most of the participants signing up for the course in Switzerland.

CMS-Africa’s training manager Henry Mwaniki has been instrumental in walking together Jenifer offering her support and guidance in initiating the first ever F4 class in Geneva. “I remember the weekly calls from Geneva where reviewed the delivery of content as well as reviewed participant’s observance of the f4 disciplines of record keeping, saving among others. We also deliberated a lot with my F4 trainers and Jenifer on the approaches and ways to run the training with Jenifer and her and her husband who had also taken the TOT in Nairobi, Kenya .

We thank God that Jenifer was able to visit our offices too just understand how to disciple Christians in diaspora most of them being Africansin diaspora as part of the CMS-Africa’s mission from Africa to the world,” says Henry. Henry visited them and conducted a series of vision castings to various groups of men and women effectively flagging off the F4 Programme in Switzerland late 2018 and again in July 2019 when the first cohort was graduated. The first lot of F4 trainees started in January 2019 completed the course and graduated in June 2019.

The team of 16 was mentored in managing their debts, generosity, saving, investing among other key topics on stewardship by Jenifer and Chrys who are certified F4 trainers under the pupilage of Henry Mwaniki. CMS-Africa is grateful to God for the opportunity to train and impact people in Europe and trust God that this would lead to a truly transformational stewardship in today’s church in the West.

Here are some of the comments from those who went through the programme in Geneva:
  • “I encourage you to think seriously about the F4 course because for me I’ve started a path that will help me manage my finances according to God’s Word, in the remaining 5 years to my retirement “said Mrs Mungai during an F4 open session in Geneva
  • “When I joined this course I learnt that God is the owner of everything I own and in everything I do to know that I’ll actually give an account. I’ve been able to pay my debts, adjust my expenses, save money and plan for my future” said Ms Kinyua during the 1st F4 graduation in July 2019
  • “F4 brings a biblical perspective in financial management and as a financial person now I don’t just depend on technical skills to manage my finances but on the Word of God. I have also been able to help my children plan for their needs as I teach them that our resources are limited and we must plan well” said Mr. Wahinya an F4 graduand.
