My name is Joys Kabonabe Sarah, a wife and mother of nine, living in the city of Beni, DR Congo. For many years, I had little interest in the Word of God and rarely attended church. But everything changed after I participated in a Women Empowerment Programme (WeP) organized by CMS-Africa at the Anglican Church of Kasabinyole, Beni.

Through that training, my heart was stirred, and I decided to join a transformational group within the same church.

Initially, I was drawn to the group’s practice of starting every meeting with prayer. There was a mother in the group who would share the Word of God each time we met. Her messages touched me deeply, and one day, I made a decision to receive Christ as my Lord and Savior. That moment marked a turning point in my life, and since then, I have remained a devoted Christian.

The transformational group also brought remarkable economic and spiritual transformation to my family. Because we were also saving and loaning each other within the group, my savings enabled me purchase three sewing machines and start my own tailoring workshop. I also began poultry farming, which has helped me achieve financial stability and become better organized in life.

Spiritually, our family now gathers every evening for prayer before going to sleep, a habit that has brought unity and peace into our home.
