A total of 63 clergy from the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Meru have successfully graduated after completing a five-month Financial Freedom for Families (F4) training program facilitated by CMS-Africa.
The graduation ceremony held today, June 5th 2025 at the ACK St. Peter’s Cathedral – Meru, marked a significant milestone in CMS-Africa’s ongoing mission to to transform nations through equipping the church with a biblical worldview.
Speaking during the event, the Bishop of Meru Diocese, Bishop David Nkaabu, commended CMS-Africa for the impactful training.
“This training is a gift to the Church. It has opened our eyes to better ways of managing not only our personal resources but also church finances. I thank CMS-Africa for investing in our clergy and for planting seeds that will bear fruit in our congregations,” said Bishop Nkaabu.
The F4 training is a biblically grounded, practical curriculum that equips participants with skills on budgeting, saving, debt management, investment, and generosity, all rooted in Christian values.
Bishop Meshack Okumu, CMS-Africa’s Country Coordinator for Kenya, emphasized the importance of cascading the knowledge gained to the grassroots.
“Graduation is not the end – it is a commissioning. We urge every graduate to implement these principles in their daily lives and to teach the same to their congregations,” said Bishop Okumu. “Financial freedom starts with mindset change and faithful stewardship of what God has entrusted to us.”
The clergy who graduated from the program expressed their gratitude, citing a deeper understanding of financial discipline and a renewed sense of purpose in guiding their churches toward sustainability.
CMS-Africa continues to collaborate with churches, local partners, and communities to foster holistic transformation in Africa through programs such as the F4, Women Empowerment Programme (WeP), Wholistic Transformational Leadership (WTL) and the 3D youth programme (Discover, Develop, Deploy).
